Get VytrixSeated Row (Cable)
With cable rowing you pull a handle towards your stomach while you are sitting. Your back and arms work together. The cable provides resistance during pulling and returning.
Also known as: Seated Row (Cable).
Cable rowing movement.
How to perform this exercise
- Sit facing a low cable with feet braced, knees slightly bent and torso upright; take the row handle.
- Pull the handle toward the torso by moving the elbows backward while keeping the trunk nearly still.
- Let the arms move forward slowly and allow natural shoulder-blade motion without collapsing forward.
What are you paying attention to?
Place your feet firmly and keep your knees slightly bent. Pull your elbows back along your torso and then gently extend your arms again. Keep your chest lifted without concaving excessively.
Common mistakes
- Avoid starting each repetition with a jerk from your lower back.
- When going back, don't let the cable suddenly pull you forward. Keep control of the entire movement.
Variants and your logbook
A different grip or a rowing machine with chest support gives a different performance. Record the device used and the grip in your logbook. A lat pulldown provides a vertical pulling motion.
