Lying Neck Flexion (Weight Plate)

Also known as: Lying Neck Flexion (Weight Plate).

Supine neck flexion with a small plate cushioned on the forehead and stabilized by both hands.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Lie on a flat bench with shoulders and torso supported and the head just beyond its end, both feet grounded.
  2. Place a small light plate on a folded towel over the forehead, steady it with both hands, and start with the neck roughly aligned with the torso.
  3. Slowly flex the neck so the chin moves slightly toward the chest, keeping shoulders down without lifting the plate with the arms.
  4. Return through a small comfortable range. Stop for pain, dizziness or tingling.
