Vertical Scissor Crunch (Bodyweight)

Also known as: Vertical Scissor Crunch (Bodyweight).

A held crunch position with a large vertical scissor motion of the legs.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Lie with the pelvis supported, shoulder blades slightly lifted and fingertips lightly beside the head; hold one nearly straight leg high and the other in a low hover.
  2. Exchange the high and low leg positions in a controlled vertical scissor while maintaining the mild crunch; do not pull the neck, bend into a bicycle crunch or cross the legs horizontally.
