Seated Shoulder Extension Stretch (Bodyweight)

Also known as: Seated Shoulder Extension Stretch (Bodyweight).

A seated stretch for the front of the shoulders and chest.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Sit on the floor with legs long and heels resting down. Place both palms on the floor behind the hips, fingers directed away from the body in a comfortable wrist position, and keep the elbows long without forcing them.
  2. Gently move the chest forward relative to the fixed hands until a mild stretch is felt across the front of the shoulders and chest. Hold with relaxed breathing and release slowly; do not lift into a reverse plank.
