Seated Chest Press (Cable)

Also known as: Seated Chest Press (Cable).

Back-supported seated chest press using two chest-height cable handles.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Place a nearly upright bench between two cable stations. Set pulleys at seated chest height, behind and slightly outside the shoulders.
  2. Sit against the backrest with feet planted. Hold the handles beside the chest with elbows bent.
  3. Press both handles forward by extending the elbows, keeping shoulders down and torso still.
  4. Bend the elbows to return under control, keeping both cables clear of the bench.
