Neutral Grip Bench Press (Dumbbell)

Also known as: Neutral Grip Bench Press (Dumbbell).

Flat-bench dumbbell press with palms facing each other throughout.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Lie on a flat bench with head, upper back and pelvis supported and both feet firmly grounded.
  2. Hold a dumbbell beside each side of the chest with palms facing each other, elbows bent and forearms roughly vertical.
  3. Press both dumbbells above the chest while retaining the neutral grip and keeping the weights separate.
  4. Lower slowly to the same comfortable starting depth without rolling the shoulders forward.
