Lying Plate Loaded Chest Press (Machine)

Also known as: Lying Plate Loaded Chest Press (Machine).

Supine near-horizontal machine chest press with two independently pivoting plate-loaded lever arms.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Lie with head, back and pelvis supported on the near-horizontal bench and both feet firmly grounded. Adjust the machine so the handles begin beside the chest.
  2. Grip both handles overhand with wrists aligned with forearms, starting with bent elbows and shoulders held against the pad.
  3. Press both lever arms above the chest by extending the elbows, keeping the body supported and both sides moving smoothly.
  4. Lower the handles under control to the same comfortable starting depth.
