Standing Tibialis Raise (Smith Machine)

Also known as: Standing Tibialis Raise (Smith Machine).

A Smith machine tibialis raise with the heels on a low platform.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Set a light Smith bar across the upper back and the safeties just below the working position. Stand with both heels supported on the front edge of a stable low platform, forefeet free beyond the edge, knees softly extended and both hands on the bar. Begin with the toes lowered comfortably.
  2. Lift both forefeet toward the shins while keeping the heels planted and torso still. Lower the toes under control to the identical start; do not raise the heels or bounce the bar.
