Seated Single Leg Hamstring Stretch (Bodyweight)

Also known as: Seated Single Leg Hamstring Stretch (Bodyweight).

A seated stretch for the hamstrings of one leg.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Sit with the right leg extended, heel on the floor and toes comfortably upward. Bend the left knee outward with the left foot near the inner right thigh. Keep the pelvis grounded and begin upright.
  2. Hinge gently toward the straight leg until a mild hamstring stretch is felt, resting the hands on the shin or foot only as comfortably reachable. Hold, release slowly and switch sides; do not force the head to the knee.
