Seated Alternating Hammer Curl (Dumbbell)

Also known as: Seated Alternating Hammer Curl (Dumbbell).

Neutral-grip dumbbell curl seated against an upright backrest, completing one arm before curling the other.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Sit against a nearly upright backrest with both feet grounded and a dumbbell beside each hip, palms facing inward.
  2. Bend one elbow to bring that dumbbell toward the shoulder without rotating the wrist. Keep the other arm lowered.
  3. Lower fully under control before starting with the other arm.
  4. Keep the upper arms beside the torso and record repetitions per arm.
