Standing Calf Raise (Dumbbell)

Also known as: Standing Calf Raise (Dumbbell).

Bilateral standing calf raise with one dumbbell per hand and the forefeet on a low, stable block. Both heels start lowered behind the block.

How to perform this exercise

  1. Hold one dumbbell beside each thigh. Place both forefeet on a low, stable block and lower the heels behind its edge.
  2. Stand upright with feet hip-width apart, knees nearly straight and weight evenly distributed.
  3. Press through both forefeet to raise the heels while keeping the torso and knee angle steady.
  4. Lower both heels slowly to the starting position without bouncing.

Tips

  • Choose a load you can balance and use a stable, non-slip block.
