How the nutritional score works for product comparison
A proprietary Vytrix indicator based on nutritional values per 100 gram.
A tool to compare products
In the product comparison, Vytrix calculates a score from 0 to 100 from the available nutritional values per 100 gram. It is a simplified product indicator. A higher number does not mean that a product is the best choice for every person or in every serving size.
Nutri-Score is a separate A–E label with its own official methodology. The Vytrix score does not adopt the Nutri-Score letter as a starting value and is not an official variant of it.
What is included in the calculation
The calculation starts at 50 points. Protein, fiber and low sugar can add points. High energy density and higher amounts of saturated fat, sugar or salt can deduct points. The ratio of protein to calories and of saturated to total fat also counts.
A concrete example from the current implementation: at least 20 grams of protein per 100 grams gives 15 extra points; at least 6 grams of fiber gives 12 extra points. The final score is limited to 0 to 100. These weights are Vytrix choices, not a clinically validated scale.
Keep the entire diet in view
A product score is one tool. The daily overview shows your logged calories and macros, so that you can also look at the consistency of your meals.
Real app image · example dataWhat the score doesn't know
The calculation uses product data that may be incomplete. For several missing values, the current implementation uses zero. A low or missing value should therefore not automatically be read as proven absence. Check the label when a comparison is important to you.
The score does not take into account your entire diet, portion size, allergies or medical situation. Therefore, also look at the individual nutritional values and the context of your meal.
